Arts, Music and Culture.

    Indigenous Art Classes.

    Participants will receive their free art box to paint alongside Montana McStay (Indigenous Artist) via MS Teams or in the YS art room. Montana will use the sessions to share stories of her culture through the art and also teach participants about the symbols of the Koori culture.

    Commences 25 March sessions over 7 weeks.

    Deck Art.

    Young people design skateboard deck art and are helped with concepts like spray painting, chalk art, sharpie line work and acrylic paint to bolden their designs. At the end of the program the participants got to take home their deck art to display.

    Ceremics.

    The program will work with an art therapist to lead sessions designed to give the youth the creative outlet through the medium of ceramics and pottery. Participants will be able to choose what they would like to make with the only parameters being that their creation needs to be functional.

    Movie Club.

    Young people will be invited to come together to discuss movies and other topics related to film on a weekly basis. With monthly trips to see new movies at village cinemas schools.

    Film Production Program.

    Young people will be supported through a series of film educational sessions, including editing, use of green screens, casting and filming. Participants will then be given the opportunity to produce their own films.
