Great news! LYS Inc. and partners were successful in applying for a Black Summer Bushfire Grant to facilitate the Gippsland East Youth Project in Wellington and East Gippsland.

After the devastating bushfires of 2019-20 young people in Gippsland East want support to overcome their trauma and create their own better future. A collective of local services are partnering to address this by providing programs, activities, and services to local young people (aged 12 to 25 years) where they live, study and work in both LGAs. Two minibuses will be equipped with resources and experienced staff to support the delivery of services to improve the mental health and wellbeing, ​resilience, and community connectedness of local young people. The project will use innovative delivery models from a range of sectors to enable young people to lead their own recovery and connection outcomes.
