  • Travel around East Gippsland to deliver fun and engaging programs on the GEYP Bus. Working directly with local youth aged 12-25, you’ll assist to build connections and rapport with young people, services and the community to create a safe and welcoming environment, and provide referrals to support services as needed to assist young people overcome the isolating and detrimental effects of the 2019-20 bushfires.
    Position Description


    A TYPICAL DAY:
    -Admin tasks such as emails, social media, program planning.
    -Meet the team, and any guest service representatives, at the GEYP Bus, complete the bus safety checklist, depart for location.
    -Shop locally for program supplies.
    -Arrive at location and setup activities.
    -As young people arrive, create a warm, friendly, safe and welcoming atmosphere. Chat and encourage participation. Facilitate conversations and connections. Engage in activities with youth. Work with youth to identify potential areas they may want/need assistance. As appropriate, make referrals. 
    -Encourage young people to sign up so they can be notified of future activities and opportunities.
    -Post to socials throughout the day.
    -Pack-up and depart.
    -Write up the daily program report and upload to Teams.
